The popularity and growth of KiddiKutter Knives over the past couple of decades have been phenomenal. These patented safety knives allow kids to learn the dextrous art of cutting safely, fostering independence and confidence in the kitchen. But what about adults who could benefit from a similar tool? Enter the KandoKutter, the world’s first-ever adult safety knife, designed to extend the same ingenious, proven design to teenagers and adults alike.

The KandoKutter incorporates our patented design into a larger model, making it perfect for safe and efficient cutting. Fingers remain protected while minimal effort is required to handle everything from soft tomatoes to steak, hard vegetables, and any other produce you need to prep or cut on your dinner plate. The unique serrated edge maintains surface contact, simplifying slicing, chopping, and dicing with ease.
Designed with the same exacting high standards as the original KiddiKutter Knives, the KandoKutter is a must-have for teens and adults. Whether you’re managing low dexterity due to a disability, living with low or no vision, or simply require a safer alternative to traditional knives, the KandoKutter offers a practical, safe, and stylish solution.
So, what led to us designing an adult safety knife? After the success of the original KiddiKutter model, it soon became clear that there was also a need for a larger size. Teens and adults with both physical and mental disabilities have, for far too long, had to struggle with the risk of using a regular bladed knife to cut and prepare food – or have to rely on someone else to do it for them. With the KandoKutter adult safe knife, this is no longer the case.
The joy of personal prep and meal creation is something we strongly believe everyone should be able to take full advantage of. The KandoKutter safety knife makes this possible. It’s suitable for both left-handed and right-handed use – and also reduces the level of effort required to cut.
The knife has rounded serrations along the blade that are designed to cut food, not skin. The design keeps firm contact with the cutting surface of the food, as well as reducing the effort and pressure needed to draw the knife back and forth in a sawing motion. This means that even those with limited movement and strength can easily cut, chop, slice and dice food items.
Absolutely! The knife’s design means that it doesn’t cut skin, much in the same way that the original KiddiKutter Knife works. The rounded, serrated edges of the knife only cut when drawn forwards and backwards across the surface of the food item, making it safe to use even if you can’t fully focus on the task.
We recommend that the knife is hand-washed to preserve its lifespan.
It measures 29cm in total, with the blade being 15cm and the handle 14cm.
The blade is polished stainless steel and the handle is crafted from natural wood.
This little baby was a world first! Others have, of course, copied it (quite flattering, really) but only our adult safe knife has the patented blade design that makes it such a game changer. Extensive research and design expertise went into bringing this one-of-a-kind product to market. Not only is it highly practical, but we use the highest quality materials, sustainable production practices and our customer service is flippin’ amazing!
